By: Tra and Kelsey Kelsey's P.O.V ~~~~~~~~ Kelsey's P.O.V. I was in my car drivin to my friends Tra's house listenin to the radio when i heard gunshots. I really wasn't surpised. Somebody around here was always gettin shot. Tra lives in the projects. She's 19 and she still lives wit her mom. Yea i still live wit my mom too. I heard a boy scream my name i just waved at him and keep goin. When i got to Tra's house her mom open the door like always and told me that Tra was in her room. As i was walkin to her room I pasted the room that was usually empty but this time a light skined boy wit a ponytail was in there. DAMN HE FINE. I noticed that the boy was lookin at me. I then realized that i had said that out loud. I ran to Tra's room. and i was breathin hard. She looked at me as if i was crazy or something. "Whats wrong wit you" she asked me laughing. "Who was the fine boy in the other room" I said still breathin kinda hard. "Oh Dreux thats my annoyin twin brother"She replyed. I looked at her like she was stupid. "TWIN BROTHER you neva told me you had a twin you neva told me you had a bother." I said."That was because he was takin care of my grandmother she was sick and a few weeks ago she died" Tra said in a sad tone of voice. "Ohh thats so sad. But atleast she's in a betta place now" I said feelin kinda sad for her. "Thats iight Kay i already kno she's in a better place. Look at where i live. Somebody gets shot like every day or everynight. Do you think i want my child to live like this for the rest of her life" Tra said gettin kinda mad. I looked at her not sayin a word kno that if i did it might make her even mader or more upset.

I only wanted a 2 bedroom apartment. I got frustrated and put the newspaper away. I had 4 months to find a place before my baby’s came. I went downstairs after putting my shoes on. I had a doctor’s appointment at noon. My dad was in the living room watching TV. Brandon: did u find somethin

It was Druex. I let it ring. That night he called me over and over again, until I turned my phone off. I wasn’t ready to talk to him yet. Breaking up wit him was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I regret it. Bump!

My name Jazmen Torres. I’m 17, just graduated this year. I’m 5 months pregnant with twins. My babies daddy Druex, don want nothin to do wit me. We broke up a couple months after I told him I was pregnant. I thought he was cheatin on me, and I broke up with him. Now that’s turning out to be the second biggest mistake of my life. He doesn’t want me back. Now I’m struggling to find a place to live and how I’m gonna support my kids. I got a part-time job but soon I’ll have to stop workin. Before all dis I used to hustle. I sold drugs and dat, but I gave up dat when I got pregnant. But after I have these babies, I’mma have to go back to it to pay my bills. My mom don want nothin to do wit me. She says I’m a worthless hoe, so I’m livin wit my dad right now. He says he’ll help me out a lil bit but hes’ not gon pay my bills for me and all dat. So right now my life is hard. But there are some lil secrets I have that nobody knows about, and that I don’t plan on telling. They tear me up inside. Sometimes, I really think about doin drugs, or cutting my self to ease some of my pain. But I never do, and never had. But with all the drama, wit my mom and Druex it’s hard not to think about stuff like dat. There’s been a couple times I came close to doin some of those things but I stopped. Something’s keeping me from doing it. I don’t know what, but there’s something that makes me put the knife down or put the drugs back in my safe. I don’t know what.

Latrashanette's P.O.V. It was one in the mornin and O'Ryan wasn't home yet. UGH 3 times in one week. I was about to fell asleep when he walked in the room. It was exactly 1:14:42 am. I can't believe this. Every night he comes in later and later. Next time he might not even come back. He went into the bathroom and about 10 minutes later he walked out wearin some boxers. Chrissie’s P.O.V
“Dreux, what are you doing?” I asked as he did another handstand against the bedroom wall.
“I’m stepping up my game.” He mumbled as he stood up, still out of breath . I laughed as he wiped the sweat from his head and grinned. It was only ten o clock and he was doing that. It was doing my head in hearing bangs against the wall every second.
“What?” He asked as I stared at him from the bed. I had just started reading the Word Up magazine that I had bought at the store earlier on.
“Nothin, man.” I replied. He looked so nice in his new blue jersey that I had bought.
“That jerseys tight Dreux, where’d you get it from?”
“You got it for me…dur!” He replied sarcastically. I got up and he giggled, knowing what was coming next. I walked over to him slowly, picked up a pillow from the floor and lifted it high above my head. He screamed and just as I was about to give him a powerful blow with it, he ran out of the door.
“Come back here, I’ma get you if it’s the last thing I do, boy!” I shrieked as I chased after him. I could see his little ponytail bobbing up and down as he ran down the spiralled stairs.
“You ain’t gonna catch me, girl, you already put on three pounds the other day!” Dreux laughed. He was now on the ground floor and I was still on the first. I was a bit out of breath to be honest but I wasn’t gonna let him diss me like that and get away with it.
“Boy, you wait til I’ve got you right where I want you!” I shouted down the stairs.
“Yeah, whatever…I’ma make a sandwich right now and by the time you come down here, I’ll be at the basketball courts.” At this time, I was just entering our open plan kitchen. He was cutting some bread on the marble counter like he always did and a yoghurt had been opened and put on the counter.. He still hadn’t seen me. I walked up behind him.
“Rah!” I made a monster sound. He jumped.
“I thought I told you not to cut bread on the counter. You’re gonna scratch it. Use the board.”
“I don’t wanna.”
“Who are you anyway?”
“I’m Dreux’s brother.” He lied, laughing.
“That’s what I thought. Oh, you’re Dreux’s twin brother that I never met coz Dreux’s meant to be at the courts by now!” I laughed and snatched half of one of his sandwiches. He had made two. I didn’t realise that the one I snatched was peanut butter and jelly.
“Uh.” I screwed up my face.
“Serves you right, who told ya to be eating my food?” Dreux grabbed it back and wolfed it down.
“You better go now, Jarell and Omari will be waiting for you. And maybe Demario.”
“A’ight, see ya later honey.” He kissed my forehead briefly, wrapped a tissue around his other sandwich and then left. Just before he went out of the door, I shouted.
“You better be watching your back coz I’m gone get you later.”
“Whatever.” He replied, grinning.
“I’m gonna drive.”
“Whatever…just be back at a reasonable time.” I replied seriously.

Dreux’s P.O.V
When I got to the court, Jarell and Omari were already shooting hoops with this guy that I never seen before. He was light skinned and slightly taller than me. I think I saw him the other day…
“Wassup Fizz?” Jarell shouted as he threw the ball to O.
“Yeah, how’s things going with your girl, Chrissie.” Omari asked nosily.
“Mind your business and I’ll mind mine.” I said as I tapped my nose.
“Nah, I’m only playing. Things going fine player…and you two, how’s Tay and Tiff.”
“A’ight.” Omari and Jarell replied in unison.
“Who’s this?” I asked, being as polite as he could.
“My name’s Lloyd. I think I seen you somewhere before.”
“Me too.”
“It don’t matter, let’s just shoot some hoops.”
“A’ight.”
“Hey, Fizz. Tay and Tiff went round to your house.”
“That’s good, we can play a few more games than usual. Ya’ll know that when them girls get together, they talk non-stop!” We all busted out laughing then continued to play. Me and Lloyd played against O and Jarell until Demario came along, looking all upset.
“Wassup D?” I asked.
“My girl just finished with me.”
“The whack one with weave down to her butt?” Omari said, starting to laugh.
“Which one?” Jarell said, starting to laugh with Omari.
“Take no notice D. Why did Liyah break up with you?”
“She said that all I need to know is that she‘s got her eye on someone else. That’s all she told me.” Lloyd signalled his goodbyes and after a car pulled up beside the courts. He got into it and rode off.
“Who was that.” Demario asked.
“Lloyd, some new guy.”
“Oh.” Demario replied. They started a new game.
“Anyway…there’s somebody else.”
“So soon?” Dreux asked Demario.
“Yeah…she’s hott!” Demario said mysteriously.
“Who is it?” Omari asked.
“Her name’s Britni, she’s cute.”
“For real?” Jarell asked.
“Yeah.”
“Damn, she fine.” Jarell complemented.
“How’d you get her!” Jarell added and all the others started laughing.

Chrissie’s P.O.V
Just after Dreux left, Tay and Tiffany came over. Tay was wearing what was obviously one of Jarell’s caps as it was way too big for her head. She noticed me laughing at it and whipped it off of her head, smoothing down her hair.
“Wassup Chrissie, are you gonna let me in then?” Tiffany shouted loudly.
“Ah nah.” I said, My wife and kids style.
“Oh, shut up.” Tiff replied, she barged past me , Tay following. Straight away, they headed for the freezer.
“There ain’t no cookie’s and cream left!” I shouted after them.
“So what’s this?” Tiff lifted up the whole carton until it was level with my eyes.
“It’s her secret stash!” Tay shrieked with laughter.
“It’s true.” I admitted, making a guilty face and put my hands on my head.”
“Freeze mother…”
“Tay!” Tiffany stopped her. I laughed and went to get three spoons and some bowls. I only ever ate out of the carton when I was sitting in front of the television with Dreux. It was our thing. They had gone and sat down in front of the plasma screened television.
“What do you need them bowls for, I usually eat outta the tub.” Tiffany shouted.
“Well, there’s always a first time for everything.” I replied as I sat down, passing them each a bowl and a spoon.
“No, I don’t do that.” Tiffany moaned.
“Alright, alright.” I put the bowls on the coffee table and sat down with the spoons still in my hand.
“Yay! I always get my own way!” Tay said.
“Is that so?” Tiffany said mysteriously.
“What is that meant to mean?” Tay replied.
“Yeah, what’s that ‘posed to mean?” I asked, suddenly interested.
“Nothing. Oh, look! 106 and Park is on.” Tay said, trying to change the subject. I snatched the remote from the table and turned of the TV.
“I’m a go get some skittles to put on my ice cream, when I come back, you better tell me what’s going on.” I went into the kitchen and reached up into the cupboard where Dreux kept a big container of skittles. I grabbed a handful and closed the cupboard, quickly returning to the living room.
“So?”
“It ain’t nothing man!” Tay shouted, irritated.
“A’ight, a’ight. I’m gone leave you alone-for now, but I’ll find out what’s going on sooner or later.”
“Okay, okay…I’ll tell you…” Tay gave in and began to explain the situation to me. I listened with wide eyes…
Dreux’s P.O.V
We couldn’t stop laughing. We hadn’t even continue the games coz we were laughing so hard. After we’d questioned De, it turned out that he isn’t even going out with Britni. The way he had said it had made it seem like he was. That girl was fine though. If I wanted her, I could have had her before but I turned her down.
“I gotta get back to my lady now. I’ve got unfinished business.” I told the others, laughing. I ran to my car- a silver M3 BMW. Yeah, it was old but it got me from a to b. I decided to stop off at Milly’s house on the way home. I hadn’t seen him for time. Me and him grew up together. He was like a brother to me.
“Wassup Fizz?”
“Aah, nothing man, what’s going on?”
“Nothing. Shanice is here with Ashley, Nisha and Britni, making up noise. I’m glad you came, I feel swamped out by all these girls up in my house.”
“I know the feeling, Tay and Tiffany are at mines now with Chrissie-probably eating my last tub of cookie’s and cream…” I thought to myself for a moment. Milly let me past and I said hi to all the girls. Out of all of them, Britni was definitely looking the finest. She was rocking a white tank top, a pleated denim skirt and white air forces. She looked cute.
“Let’s go upstairs and play Def Jam Vendetta on the PS2, at least then we wont be interrupted.”
“That’s true.” I agreed, quickly looking away from Britni as she caught my eye.
“Only for an hour or so.” I added, looking back at her for a moment.
Chrissie’s P.O.V
“Oh my gosh…does he know?” I asked, shocked.
“NO!”
“See, if you did always get your own way, you wouldn’t be in this situation.” Tiffany shouted.
“Oh thanks.” Tay whispered.
“She’s right Tay.”
“Oh, great. Now both of you are ganging up on me.”
“We’re not, we’re just worried about you.”
“You’re still young and you’ve got your life to live…plus, what’s your mom gonna say?” I whispered. Tay looked down at her feet and sighed.
“I don’t know.” She whispered back. Tiffany put her arm around Tay on one side and I on the other to comfort her.
“And how long are you exactly?” I asked quietly. She looked at me then back at her feet, not uttering a word.
“Tay?” Tiffany signalled at me to stop.
“I want to know!” I shouted.
“Two months.” Tay whispered in reply. How could she wait so long to tell me and how long had Tiffany known? How could she keep it a secret from her man for so long? She always swore that she loved him so why not?
“You need to tell Jarell.”
“I can’t.” She shouted.
“Why?” Tiffany asked.
“I just can’t!” She shrieked.
“But why?” Tiffany yelled.
“I don’t know if it’s his!” Tay finally admitted, covering her face with the palms of her hands. We could still see the tears running down her face but we were both in a complete state of shock. She cheated on Jarrell. She swore that she would never do that to him.
“Say something!” She shouted, hating the silence that swept over the whole house. When I finally found my voice again, I said
“Whose else can it be?” in a serious tone.
“It could be…”
